Weekly Recap #7: Monday Edition

Howdy! So, I have to start this week with a fun finding I made on Monday. If you've been reading from the very beginning, you know of the Into the Dark movies Hulu makes every month. I've been watching each of them, starting in January, with the plan of watching every one as they're released.

But to my surprise -- I found out there were more. Hulu started this movie series in October of last year, not in January So you can guess what the first three movies of my week will be.

#42 Body

Available on Hulu

I had high expectations for this one, since it was based on Halloween, but I was let down once again. These films are truly the Lifetime movies of streaming. But you know what the worst part is? I'm kind of obsessed with them.

#43 Flesh & Blood

Available on Hulu

I figured out what I don't like about these movies -- they don't go far enough for me. I've always wondered why horror films seem to hold back. With this genre, there's so much your audience will allow you to do, so why not push it a little? I'm genuinely curious about this -- is it the fault of the studio? Director? Writer? I just don't understand why you'd play it safe with the most daring genre out there.

#44 Pooka!

Available on Hulu

So this is the last "Into the Dark" movie that I had to watch in order to be caught up. I will say, this one was probably the best one so far, but that's not saying much.

So you may have noticed two things by now: 1. this is posted on Monday, not Sunday and 2. there are only three movies. The fact that I was busy enough to not be able to see any movies for four days in a row is as surprising to me as it must be to you. This week I had a lot of cool things to do that kept me busy. One of which was a fun project my brother, Anthony, and I filmed this weekend.

Some of you may know that my dream is to be a filmmaker. My brother and I have been wanting to make something for so long and we finally were able to do it! It's really small and silly, but it was so much fun to make and I think it's the first of many that we'll produce together. I can wait to share it with y'all.

Thank you for sticking around and apologies in advance for how long I'm assuming the next post will be. See ya next Sunday (I promise)!
