Howdy! I just want to take the time to thank whoever is reading this. In a vlog and podcast heavy world, it's nice to know that some (even if it's a small group) still like to read little blogs like mine. I don't say it enough, but I appreciate every single one of you.

#142 Secret in Their Eyes

Available on Netflix

A cop steps back into his old life when he digs up a new lead to an old "closed" case.

This movie falls into an interesting category of movies that have everything going for it, yet it still fails. This one, for instance, has basically a dream team of a cast (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Nicole Kidman, and Julia Roberts are the leads) and the story is mildy interesting. But at the end my biggest question was: what went wrong?

For me, it's a couple of things: a misplaced love story, lazy character development, bad makeup, and an ending that felt like a reach. I'm not going to go into specifics because it'll take me way too long, but my point is that an incredible cast is only one element that makes a good movie. Even the best set of actors you can hire won't make a bad movie good, it just makes a bad movie all the more disappointing,

#143 The Perfection

Available on Netflix

Two musical prodigies fall down a dangerous path after meeting through their shared mentor.

It's really hard to describe this movie. It's even harder to express how I felt about it. I know that I liked every performance in it and the story was unlike anything I've ever seen. It was truly a wild ride form start to finish. Although I can't say if I liked it or not, I can say that you should definitely watch it -- if you're not squeamish.

#144 Always Be My Maybe

Available on Netflix

Two old friends reconnect after a falling out. They start to fall for each other, but as always, it's ever that simple.

I really loved this rom com for many reasons, one of which that I never expected was Keanu Reeves. It's such a rare thing to see him be so completely silly, so we better cherish it.

#145 Two Weeks Notice

Available on Hulu

A passionate environmental lawyer gets offered a job from a wealthy real estate developer in hopes of keeping her community center from being the victim of his company's next high rise.

This movie was fine; just a typical Hugh Grant rom com. There was only one glaring terrible thing in this movie that I'll let you see for yourself.

#146 Down To You

Available on HBO

Two people meet in college and fall in love.

I could not remember what movie this was so I had to look it up. That should tell you all you need to know.

#147 Godzilla: King of the Monsters

In theaters

Godzilla and friends.

I guess seeing the monsters were cool, but the story was weak and I was so confused about where they were (location-wise) at all times. It's fine for what it is.

#148 Then Came You

Available on Netflix

A hypochondriac meets a girl dying of cancer. That's pretty much the whole plot.

I'm so tired of the the "annoying let lovable" character arc. They're never lovable and always unbearably annoying.

Thanks for sticking around! See ya next week.
