Howdy! I feel like in the last few posts I've been a Negative Nancy, so I'm really happy to finally be in a good mood on a Monday. I had a productive weekend working on some really exciting projects with my brother, Anthony. I'll talk more about those in the next post, but for now -- let's get into what you're here for.

#182 Aziz Ansari: Right Now

Available on Netflix

Aziz Ansari's newest stand up special.

I normally don't like Aziz's comedy, but I really liked this special. I especially liked the odd style Director Spike Jonze brought to it. One thing I didn't care for was how he whispered in some parts. It's a really nit-picky thing to not like, but it really took me out of his set.

#183 Heroin(e)

Available on Netflix

A documentary looking at an overdose epidemic in a small Michigan town.

I knew that there was a bad drug problem in parts of the country, but I would have never guessed it was this bad. This documentary did a good job of showing us that the efforts some states are putting into stopping this epidemic are wielding amazing results, while also showing how far we still have to go to fix it.

#184 Welcome to the Rileys

Available on Amazon Prime and Hulu

A couple grieving the loss of their daughter find their second chance in helping a young runaway

One thing that really stood out about this movie was how perfect the casting was. James Gandolfini was obviously great in this movie, but the scene-stealer was definitely Melissa Leo. For an alright movie, she was captivating.

#185 Stuber

In theaters

Stu, an Uber driver, picks up a cop on a mission

My expectations for this one was basically at sea level, so I'm glad to say that it wasn't that bad. It was predictable, but still entertaining nonetheless.

#186 Catfight

Available on Netflix

Two women beat the shit out of each other in different periods of their lives.

The only way I can describe this one is like a fever dream. It felt very silly, but I'm not sure if it was meant to be. The fight scenes were good though and I guess that's all we can hope for.

#187 Be Here Now: The Andy Whitfield Story

Available on Netflix

The story of an actor's fight with cancer.

I really need to stop watching these. It was obviously really touching, but it made me very emotional and if you know anything about me -- you'd know that I don't like emotions.
