Weekly Recap #10: Weird comedy, static, and spending way too much money

Howdy! I'm kind of sad that I won't be able to go to any SXSW stuff, but on the other hand, I get to work from home this week -- so it's not all bad, folks.
#66 Zach Galifinakis at the Purple Onion
Available on Netflix
I don't think I've ever seen Zach Galifinakis' stand up before. It was weird, but in a way that wasn't annoying or hard to understand. I really liked it.
#67 About A Boy
Available on Netflix
I really liked this movie, but my all time favorite Hugh Grant movie will always be "Music and Lyrics", no question.
#68 Five Feet Apart
In theaters
So I got a code from T Mobile for a $4 ticket for this movie. I didn't realize when I bought it that it was to something called a "Fan Event". When I arrived to the theater, I was expecting tons of teen girls, just ready to cry -- but there were only 4 people in the theater (I counted). There was an awkward 2 minute pause with a screen that told us to "share our experience" and an eerie low static noise in the background. All and all, it was a strange experience for an okay movie.
#69 Ibiza
Available on Netflix
I'm kind of tired of this whole "girl trip" genre that I see every few months. I mean, I get it, but it's kind of tired.
#70 Her Smell
This movie had tons of great acting and blocking, but this was one where I'm still not sure how I felt about it.
Thanks for sticking around another week. I'm sad to report that I wasn't able to find time for any SXSW showings, but I think I may have decided to get a badge for next year. Hopefully I'll still be doing this by then, because then I'll have something actually exciting to write about other than my weird theater experiences. See ya next Sunday!
