Howdy! Many of you may know that I have a cat son named Ari. His 3rd birthday is April 2 and I wanted to give him a shout out, despite the fact that he cannot read and even if he could, I doubt he would ever read this.
#82 Jimmy Carr: The Best of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits
Available on Netflix
I like Jimmy Carr more when he's a host. This special was okay, but I prefer stories in stand up, rather than a compilation of jokes.
#83: I'm Just F*cking With You
Available on Hulu
The infamous Into the Dark series that I've been borderline obsessively watching is starting to get a little better. I really liked the distinctive style of this one. I didn't care for the story line, but it gives me hope for this series.
#84 Alex Strangelove
Available on Netflix
I know I'm very behind on this movie, but I am just really bad at watching movies when people are talking about them the most. This one was a movie that I heard about a lot when it first came out on Netflix and I can finally say -- it lived up to the hype. I was really funny and cute.
#85 Burn After Reading
Available on Netflix
I think this may be my favorite Coen Brothers movie I've ever seen. The cast was perfect, I laughed the entire time, and it culminated in one of the best endings I've seen in a while.
#86 The Party
Available on Hulu
This movie really hit all of my favorite things: ensembles, black and white aesthetic, and white people arguing with each other in elegant attire. I loved how this movie took an otherwise upscale group of friends and saddled them with real life problems. Also, just like Burn After Reading, the ending was a real treat.
#87 Pet Sematary
In theaters
I haven't seen the original one, but I hope it was more fully-formed than this one was. By the end, it felt unfinished.
If you came here from Instagram, you may have noticed that I've added another element to my posts -- graphic design! Some of you may know that my full time job is as a Content Specialist. In this position, I've been able to hone my graphic design skills, most of which, I didn't know I even had. I'm hoping to make a new graphic every week to accompany my posts. This blog was started as an effort to make my writing better, so I hope I can do the same with my design skills.
See ya next week!
